Maintenance Manager
JOB DESCRIPTION
Reporting to: Operations Manager Fire & Security Dept
SUMMARY/PRIME OBJECTIVES
Preparation, submission, implementation and invoicing of all maintenance schedules, to include liaison with clients, internal support staff, co-ordinators and engineers, ensuring visits are carried out in accordance with NSI Requirements and underperforming areas are identified and addressed. Arrange and implement the necessary training to enable all staff within the department to carry out maintenance visits in accordance with British Standards.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Carry out monthly/quarterly analysis of all maintenance contracts, assessing profit/loss
Identify areas for improvement
Implement areas identified for improvement
Organise the on call rota with the Operations Manager, to ensure adequate cover at all times
Liaise with support staff to ensure all maintenance visits carried out as per their planning, and identify/address any areas that are not achieving
Carry out necessary audits with maintenance engineers, in a timely fashion to ensure conformity with NSI requirements
Relevant training of staff in the completion of all necessary paperwork related to NSI requirements and engineer work sheets
Ensure maintenance renewals are sent to the customer at least one month prior to renewal date
Arrange training as and when required to ensure all engineers within the department carry out maintenance works in accordance to British Standards
Deputise works on behalf of the Fire & Security Operations Manager as directed, and during times of annual leave/sickness
Identify and support areas for improvement within the department
Meet with Clients to discuss performance and additional works
Carry out quotations in respect of jobs associated with maintenance contracts
Renegotiate existing contracts when due for renewal
Any other works associated with the Fire & Security Department to ensure the conscientious discharge of duties, as and when directed by the Fire & Security Director
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ATTRIBUTES
Essential
Good communication and organisational skills
Previous experience in maintenance management
Electrical background, conversant with Fire BS5839: BS5839 part 6: BS6266
Emergency lighting BS5266
Latest European Standards to include EN50131, PD6662-2004, DD243
Extensive experience in the Fire & Security industry and in particular organising operatives and their workloads
IT literate word, excel, e-mail
