Our approach

Bidding

Our bid team successfully secured the opportunity by presenting unique innovations and value propositions.

Given the nature of the care home, meticulous planning was crucial, and clear communication with all tenants was a priority. Prior to the commencement of the project, extensive pre-start planning was conducted through internal discussions and consultations with our client and end-users. In our role as the principal contractor, we integrated CDM 2015 compliance into both our construction plans and quality management plans to ensure a comprehensive and well-managed approach.

Our approach

Security

Due to the site's nature, all operatives were required to hold a valid DBS certificate. With experience on various high-security sites, we have an in-house security screener who vets every team member.

We maintained a weekly updated program of works to keep tenants informed about the project's progress. This was crucial for them to understand our location within the building and anticipate when access to their apartments would be necessary for new supply connections. Regular progress meetings were instrumental in communicating the project schedule and addressing any potential issues, ensuring a successful and smooth delivery of the project.

Our approach

Improvement

To sustain services for the tenants, we first installed temporary plant, pipework, and lighting.

We then removed the existing ceilings, pipework, and lighting, followed by the replacement of the three boilers in the plant room.

With the pipework running through the corridors, the foremost challenge was the presence of elderly tenants in the building. To address this concern, we strategically placed signs and barriers to prevent tenants from accessing potentially hazardous areas. Ensuring the safety of the occupants, we consistently maintained clear emergency exit routes throughout the project.

Our approach
