Virgin Media O2 National Security Upgrade
Upgrade project for physical and electronic security across 600+ corporate sites across Virgin Media O2’s UK estate.
Virgin Media O2 serves the telecommunication needs of a significant segment of the United Kingdom. In 2020, it was identified that both the physical and electronic security measures on the sites needed upgrading to align with new security guidelines.

Introduction
All sites were designated category A, B, or C, prioritised based on their strategic importance level of urgency and a detailed survey and upgrade programme put in place

Sites were organised into geographical areas, and the respective installation teams were assigned accordingly.

Challenges
The primary challenge encountered was the physical diversity of each site, with some aging structures posing difficulties in implementing secure measures. To address this challenge, we obtained approval to conduct more comprehensive surveys that required disturbing the existing infrastructure of the buildings to ensure that our designs and provisions were of the highest quality.
