Our bid team successfully secured this project by presenting a compelling proposal that demonstrated unique innovations and tangible value, setting us apart from the competition. Comprehensive pre-start planning conducted internally and collaboratively with both the client and end-user, was instrumental in preparing for and effectively addressing the site-specific complexities. As the appointed Principal Contractor, we ensured full compliance with the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 (CDM 2015), integrating these requirements into our Construction Phase Plan. Additionally, robust quality management strategies were developed and implemented to maintain high standards throughout project delivery
Given the sensitive nature of the site, it was a mandatory requirement that all operatives held valid DBS certificates. Our extensive experience working on high-security sites has led to the development of robust internal protocols, including a dedicated in-house security screener responsible for the vetting and clearance of all personnel.
As the site remained operational during school term times, stringent safeguarding measures were implemented to ensure the safety and well-being of pupils and staff throughout the construction period. A secure compound was established around the designated work area and temporary plant to restrict unauthorised access. Furthermore, all deliveries were scheduled outside of school hours to minimise disruption and maintain a safe, controlled environment
To ensure uninterrupted heating for both students and staff during the works, we installed a temporary plant and associated pipework throughout the building. Once the temporary system was operational, the existing boilers and pipework within the plant room were carefully decommissioned and removed.
The upgrade included the installation of three high-efficiency boilers within the refurbished plant room, along with new pipework seamlessly integrated with the existing building services. A new Building Management System (BMS) panel was also installed, providing the client with enhanced control and real-time monitoring of the heating system. Additionally, a new flue system was fitted to support the upgraded plant, ensuring compliance with all relevant safety and environmental standards
The project was successfully delivered on time and within budget, meeting all key performance targets. The client has expressed high levels of satisfaction with the quality of workmanship and overall delivery. We value this positive relationship and look forward to the opportunity to collaborate with Hampshire County Council on future projects
